To Be or not to Be

Networking reboot
In 2022, I rebooted my journey into networking after leaving it in 2019. I was in the throes of publishing Generation Share, a visual storybook about changemakers. Then our pandemic hit.
I was looking for a network that made sense and gave Co-Women a go. At the time, I was reviewing my approach to photography. I could no longer expect people to just be themselves, when most people I spoke to hated being photographed!

I used this new network to help me collate data about the state of being that exists in each of us, and also that part that gets awkward, nervous or concerned when we are in front of the camera.
The Co-Women WhatsApp group was an ideal resource to invite interviews and ask questions about this inside stuff. Three years ago, I hadn't realised how those simple questions about the concept of ‘being’ would sit in the heart of what I do today.
Being there
We transmit a communication in every moment that we exist. This is so powerful, to the degree that if you are resistant to the idea of being photographed during a session, you will transmit this discomfort and not recognise yourself in your photos.
Being comfortable with ourselves is a most fascinating and fundamental phenomenon of the psyche.
I began to realise how vital it is for my clients to ‘be’ the entrepreneur, the person who they are harnessing, growing, educating and creating in their business. This is such a powerful thing, I cannot overstate it.
Energy transmission
What we transmit in our communication creates impact. What impact do you want?
When I take photos, I want the purpose to shine through, that’s my goal. So if we allow ourselves to sit in our purpose, even if we haven’t got ‘there’ yet, we by default, allow ourselves to be.
Beingness is a calm, centred, aligned space. It is perhaps the most powerful component of existence. When we allow ourselves to BE, our communication is more powerful. We impact life from our state of being.
Purpose
Your photos are your communication tool, and your presence allows your visibility to the world. So in your next photo session, allow yourself to notice your purpose. Let yourself resonate.
It’s a beautiful thing that we actually light up when they switch on our purpose.
During my photo sessions I help you shine through the lens by knowing about your purpose. I coach this, to put you in the frame, so that you can then connect with your audience.
What do you do? What is your purpose? Do you need photos that capture who you are as an entrepreneur?

My thanks and appreciation for all the Co-Wo’s who I’ve worked with thanks to this marvellous network!
