Karen Blakesley is a litigation and business solicitor with over 20 years of experience in private practice and five years in commerce and industry. She is dedicated to forming long-term partnerships with clients by getting to know their business and providing swift, practical, and cost-effective legal solutions.
Karen’s aim is to operate as an outsourced legal department service for SMEs, offering tailored support at a cost that fits each client’s specific needs. From managing commercial disputes to guiding the setup, buying, and selling of businesses, she ensures that legal risks are carefully considered and mitigated in any given situation. She also provides flexible, ad hoc legal advice where appropriate.
Karen began her career with a busy high street practice in greater London before expanding her company commercial experience at a Legal 500 firm. After four years working in commerce and industry, she returned to private practice, spending nearly 15 years as a partner and senior member of the commercial and litigation department.
In addition to her legal career, Karen holds a degree in Law with French and a diploma in French Legal Studies from Strasbourg University. She also has a working knowledge of both French and Spanish, having spent time living in Spain. Karen has experience teaching English as a foreign language and enjoys mentoring junior professionals.
Recently, Karen expanded her skillset by qualifying as a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist. This unique combination of legal and therapeutic expertise allows her to offer a holistic approach, helping clients navigate both business challenges and personal well-being with greater confidence.
