"On arrival, you would all be kitted out with aprons and our potter will give you a demonstration on the potters’ wheel on how to throw a pot! You’ll then take it in turns in groups to take a spin at it yourselves, turning what was a lump of earth into a small bowl or dish. It’s a lighthearted and fun session, resulting in a unique piece you can hopefully keep for a lifetime! They’ll be clear glazed a lovely shiny white, and ready to collect 3 weeks later. There is an element of embracing the uncertainty of clay with this session - you’ll get a unique and one-of-a-kind pot, even if a little wonky - especially if it’s your first time throwing, but that’s part of the joy of ceramics. Practicality wise, we recommend if you have long hair, something to tie it back with, watches/rings/bracelets will need to be removed, and it is a little trickier if you have long nails (but still very much doable!). Clay washes out of clothes. We are BYOB and have glasses you can use."
